It is difficult to describe every day how beautiful this part of France is, around every corner landscapes changes, we are riding through Lavender and Poppy seed fields, then vineyards, then another 3 mile climb at 6% average followed by gorgeous downhills. So far we covered 200+KM and 10,000+ ft of vertical in only 2 days, this ride is not for wimps.
What a great day this was. After a 2 mile walk through Nice, we found the bus station that would take us to the small principality of Monaco. 45 scenic minutes later, we stepped in a different world as we know it. Multi-gazillion dollar yachts were lined up in front of multi-gazillion dollar apartments in the harbor of Monte Carlo. I recognized some of the roads from the famous annual Formula 1 race, the finish line and the tunnel. It has been 3 years since I came up with the idea to go to the 100th Anniversary of the Tour de France. Now we’re in Nice, Cote d’Azur, 3 years later walking on the Promenade des Anglais enjoying a beautiful day with clear skies and warm temperatures. The Tour caravan arrived early in Nice.
