Today was a rare day in Kona… the weather was NOT sunny! Our scheduled regularly Northern Kona Thursday cycling tour (the Mauka Makai) which circumnavigates through the Kohala mountains, was destined to be plagued with bad weather. Instead of our tour guests being cold, wet and miserable all day, we decided to break plans and give them the option to ride one of our previously discontinued tours (The Java Jolt) which travels through southern Kona coffee country. The weather down south ended up being pretty nice and the cloud cover kept everyone from getting too hot or sunburned.
Dark clouds hovered over Capdepera. The sky was sad, just like us, today is the last day of riding. A small group went for a quick ride up our “Small Kaloko” hill of Cala Torta. Julia and I decided to stay put and take care of “cleaning up” our camp. Bike clean and return, packing, etc. The gang was back around 1pm. Quick shower and catching a ride with Peter to the well anticipated Midevil Festival in town.
