2013 Tour of France Gordes – Le Mas de Peints
It has been repeating itself for quite some time, but it is really the truth, every day riding is better than the day before. The hotel in Gordes was beautiful, built basically into the mountain with several levels of services and rooms, dinner was special, again, local food from the Provence, always plenty to eat without feeling full, wine is great, white or red, doesn’t matter. This morning we started at 8.30am to make our way to the coastal plains of the Camargue, known for its marsh lands and horse breeding, we won’t forget to mention the Languedoc wine region. This day was a, lets called an active recovery day with very little climbing and lots of stuff to see, 62 miles and 1120ft of climbing, means most of the day we rode downhill 🙂 Le Baux was a definitely a sensational place, with its only 56 inhabitants, built on top of an impressive mountain formation. We finished our ride along the stunning marsh lands of the Camargue.
