Java Jolt

6th Dec 2012

Today was a rare day in Kona… the weather was NOT sunny! Our scheduled regularly Northern Kona Thursday cycling tour (the Mauka Makai) which circumnavigates through the Kohala mountains, was destined to be plagued with bad weather.

Instead of our tour guests being cold, wet and miserable all day, we decided to break plans and give them the option to ride one of our previously discontinued tours (The Java Jolt) which travels through southern Kona coffee country.

The weather down south ended up being pretty nice and the cloud cover kept everyone from getting too hot or sunburned.

My wife Kathy and I had a really fun ride through Kona up above where we were staying. We enjoyed spending our morning on two wheels with Oliver. The weather was bad up North so we opted for Oliver’s alternative route and were satisfied with the length of the ride and the sights were great. We want to come back in a year or two and do one of the bigger rides. Around the island sounds good.

It was very nice meeting, and riding with you and Kathy. Very much looking forward to doing some cycling with you in the future.

      Mahalo!
